D&D Adventure

Recently, I had decided to become the Dungeon Master within a game of Dungeons and Dragons. This involves me having to create/understand an entire fantasy universe, showing that I have creative thinking skills through creating an entire story for a world that doesn't exist. It also shows that I need to have decent time management and punctuality through planning out an entire adventure for other people to be able to play and enjoy before a certain time limit. This task has been going fairly well as I have a fun and interesting plot designed for the adventure and I am already designing interactive things for the people who I will be playing with to be challenged and immersed within the D&D game when it is played. Designing this also shows that I can work with a team effectively as when playing Dungeons and Dragons, you are generally with a party, having to make smart and important calls which may change the pace/direction of the entire game, so working together is very importan...

Game Community

This week I decided to start a community within an MMORPG game I frequently play. I have achieved this through starting a guild, beginning with friends and opening up to other players on the same server that I am in. This helps me as it involves planning skills to create and schedule events within the guild as well as being active and talking to other members within the guild that I have created. Being the guild leader also requires that I have to be able to work efficiently in a team, improving skills of being a team leader as well as working well as a team. I am known in my guild to be helpful to other players, be forgiving over potential mistakes as well as have a very large patience if anything may go wrong within the guild. Being the guild leader also allows me to help out other players who may be less better off than I am within the game, so I approach this as a chance to help them catch up by doing various things to help them get to a level and quality of gear/items that is acc...

Presentation Completion

I recently had presented my presentation within my Unit 1 - Communication skills & Employability. I had to do this in front of the rest of the people within the my college course. I feel as though this went well as I was able to perform my presentation fairly confidently and managed to project my voice semi-decently to the rest of the students in my unit. I could have improved on the projection of my voice during the presentation as at some points I don't think it could be heard too well by the people at the back of the classroom. I also feel as though my confidence could be improved on a little more, but overall the progress being made and the task I performed went fairly well and I am looking forward to making further progress on improving my skills for the future.

Building Computers

In college, we were given the task to take apart and rebuild computers that no longer work. Me and my group decided that we could try and make the computers (which haven't been ran in years) work once again. After changing various parts around with what was available to us within college as well as the components from the original tower, we managed to get a computer running with Windows XP and play solitaire. I think that this will be a useful thing to be able to do as it shows that our group thought outside of the box and went one step further than what was asked of us as well as succeeded in our extra task. This also shows that we have extended knowledge of computer systems, their components and how they work as we managed to connect everything where they belonged and get it running perfectly fine as if it was 2005 again when Windows XP was the most recent version of Windows. Overall I feel as though we were successful and the creative thinking we did will translate into new skil...

Driving Lessons

Recently, I have been taking driving lessons. This will help with my future career possibilities as a lot of jobs may require me to be able to drive or have a license. If I do not have this then I would not be able to even apply for the job. Being able to drive also enables you to obtain potential promotions within the workplace as it ensures that you can be at work on time as well as be able to work overtime as you have a pretty much guaranteed way to get back home safely. Having your driving license also allows you to be able to move house to an either better suited location or somewhere you prefer without it hindering you ability to get to work as you can drive there from your home without being reliant on public services to get to work every day. Public services can also be fairly unreliable as sometimes there can be strikes as well as delays throughout the week, making it so that you are late to arrive. I feel as though having a driving license will aid me in getting a career as i...

Presentation Task

As part of my course, I have been assigned the task of creating a presentation. This does link to my personal development plan in multiple ways as it will help me with public speaking, confidence and voice projection. All of these skills are important aspects that potential employers will look out for when you apply for a job and performing this will definitely improve my chances for the future. For this presentation I have decided to talk about the story of the game 'Overwatch' as I find the lore of this interesting and I feel as though I could present this in a way that will engage others as well as allow me to improve upon myself as a person. This task will also allow me show creativity within my presentation which is a skill which can most definitely be transferred and interpreted into other situations within a career.
